Resumen
ZURITA RIVERA, Ursula. School violence seen from the media and legislative power in Mexico. sophia [online]. 2015, vol.11, n.1, pp.81-93. ISSN 1794-8932.
The article examines some of the main concepts and attitudes about violence in Mexican schools proposed recently by two actors external to the education system whose importance is indisputable: it's the media and the legislature. These looks are addressed through a content analysis of the news in the newspapers nationwide as well as eleven entities existing laws and a documentary review of literature, taking into account the conceptualizations, proposals and relevant implications for the educational system and schools. This analysis is essential given the deep scope of functions that comply with these two actors in the country and, above all, by the peculiar way they have contributed to focus and, consequently, to promote specific actions aimed to the prevention and eradication of violence in schools in Mexico.
