A theoretical approach is set out here on migration, gender and transnational family, which describes the main categories defining the main interpretative guidelines: the recourse to transnationalism to explain migrations, including the theorization on the transnational families, and the gender perspective for the reading of the migratory phenomena. Current international migration is the point of convergence and expression of a series of contradictions and paradoxes. Indeed, it is at the tendency to weaken the borders between countries as a result of crossing cultures, traditions, economic practices and global consumption in the contexts of origin and destination of migrants have increased interaction.
