This article presents the preliminary results of the intervention process to different groups of students enrolled from 7th to 9th grades in different educational institutions of the municipalities of Pereira and Dosquebradas, activity that meets the first objective in the project called "Teaching to promote mathematical thinking by using lego devices" and refers to" conduct an assessment on the development of mathematical thinking in students in basic education IE municipalities of Dosquebradas and Pereira.
