Resumen

ARIZA GOMEZ, Daniel Enrique  y  HERNANDEZ MADRID, Isabel Cristina. Ajax in Terms of Masculinity. Pensam. palabra obra [online]. 2021, n.26, pp.72-87.  Epub 25-Feb-2022. ISSN 2011-804X.  https://doi.org/10.17227/ppo.num26-14379.

This article corresponds to one of the results of the investigation "Ajax the men. Making visible the gender-based violence experienced by men", a project funded by Minciencias within the framework of the InvestigARTE 2019 call. Taking as the axis of discussion the situation to which the hero Ajax is led in the homonymous tragedy written by Sophocles, the manuscript will try to provoke a look at the way in which Gender-Based Violence (GBV) has impacted education, behaviors and the ways in which masculinity and, to a large extent, men are configured. The structure of the text is made up of three sections. The first of them, from an intimate voice, offers the motivations that were had to work on the subject of GBV. Second, and based on statistical data on the panorama of GBV in Colombia, the context in which the research is developed is located, at the same time that the problematic reality that gave rise to the creation research project is exposed, whose fundamental purpose is the creation of a scenic work. Finally, the last section installs the speech in the understanding of the tragedy of Ajax in terms of masculinity and his relationship with GBV.

Palabras clave : Ajax; gender-based violence; masculinities.
