The main objective of this paper is to understand the commercial exchange of imported assets between Maracaibo's port and the province of Pamplona from 1785 to 1819. It regards how the traffic increased in the early 19th century and was later affected by the independence of New Granada. This article uses the libros de cuentas de alcabala from Pamplona and guías de comercio made by the port functionaries stored in Archivo General de la Nación, sección ArchivoAnexo II and III.
