In this article of reflective nature, starts from the idea that current conditions of development, as well as quality of life, must be addressed coherently since the manner that have been traditionally studied is today in crisis. Considering this, raises an alternative connection, to get closer to the reference phenomenon, underlining at the center of debate the capacities approach contributions proposed by Amartya Sen.. It is reflected to deduce the scope of this proposal and immediately propose an alternative route in which the emphasis is placed on the qualitative evaluation of development and quality of life Social subjects acquire centrality in this proposal, since it takes into account the subjective perception they have about their living conditions and in the context that determines them.
