In Colombia, the training of health professionals demands the promotion of integral training, critical thinking, and social justice. For this, the Corporación Universitaria Iberoamericana in the Physical therapy career has incorporated subjects such as Human Development, Public Health and Bioethics, among others, aspiring to contribute to the construction of a fair society, respectful of human rights and integral professionals with critical thinking. The objective is to analyze the notions about social justice that the physical therapy students of the Corporación Universitaria Iberoamericana have built and their relationship with the training process. A comprehensive qualitative study with a hermeneutical approach, developed between February and December 2019, was conducted. It used as tools for gathering ethnographic technical information: field diary, semi-structured interview and discussion groups combined with techniques of Art-Based Research (creation artistic). The participants were second, fifth and ninth semester physical therapy students of the Corporación Universitaria Iberoamericana. A categorical hermeneutical analysis of interviews and artistic creations (images, texts, representations of social justice) of the discussion groups (116 students in 26 discussion groups) was implemented. In the results, as a notion of social justice based on equity and civil ethos, students propose an ideal whose purpose is to guarantee recognition and full respect for human rights; meet the fundamental human needs for a better quality of life; remove barriers to access health and education services. It is concluded that social justice is based on an civil ethos and involves thinking about real respect for human rights, guaranteeing satisfaction of fundamental human needs, promoting quality of life, respect for cultural and gender diversity, care of the environment and all living things.
