The article discusses Evelyn H. Davison's theoretical and methodological contributions to the field on the basis of her book Social Casework. The review of Davison's contributions is of fundamental importance since it facilitates reflection on the advances, continuities, and breaks in the theorization of Social Work over the years, as well as on the socio-cultural changes and the appearance of theoretical and conceptual frameworks that differ from those prevailing at the time the profession arose.
