BASTIDAS LUNA, Viviana Lorena; HOLGUIN ROSERO, Keila Ginett y OBANDO APRAEZ, Carol Viviana. Octavia Hill and her Contributions to the Rise of Social Work in 19th Century England. Trab. soc. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.1, pp.203-223. ISSN 2256-5493. https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v22n1.78912.
The article analyzes the origins of Social Work from a gender perspective, emphasizing the contributions of Octavia Hill as a Social Work pioneer, given her social intervention with respect to the poverty and lack of housing and dignified spaces for the most vulnerable inhabitants of 19th-century London. It also highlights the theoretical conceptions and main epistemological conceptions, both traditional and emergent, that guided her professional activity and that of Social Work in general.
