This article is a general approach to the way social-legal research addressed the construction of knowledge through complementary themes and methodologies, within the framework of the Law program of the Universidad Católica de Colombia. On this occasion, the current trends of socio-legal research are analyzed, as an orientation for the strategic development of the Socio-legal Research Center of the Law School at the Universidad Católica de Colombia. The law programs catalogued in the QS classification are selected, through which the trends and general requirements are reviewed, as well as the socio-legal research practices in each Law School and the results obtained.
