RANGEL QUINONEZ, Henry Sebastián y YANEZ CANAL, Gabriel. Classification by Capital of a Sample of Micro-Entrepreneurs from Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area through Multiple Correspondence Analysis. Ens. Econ. [online]. 2018, vol.28, n.53, pp.165-192. ISSN 0121-117X. https://doi.org/10.15446/ede.v28n53.75018.
The results presented in this article are a characterization from the health, educational, social, physical and financial capitals of a sample of microentrepreneurs from the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga (AMB) in 2012. To achieve a robust characterization, the Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) was used, which allowed observing the existing relationship between the categories of the different dimensions and the different levels of benefits. The observed associations allowed to classify the microentrepreneurs into three groups according to their profits and specific characteristics of the capitals considered. The fact that among the microentrepreneurs analyzed the most important factor in the success of the business is human capital is highlighted. Additionally, the use of the MCA made it possible to classify microentrepreneurs at the "low profit" level who refused to provide information about their benefits and level of indebtedness, based on the answers provided in the other dimensions.
