Resumen

CABRERA AMAYA, Diego Mauricio  y  LOPEZ CRUZ, José Wilfredo. Floristic richness and structure of aquatic and terrestrial vegetation in El Salitre wetland, Bogotá, Colombia. Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2019, vol.43, n.168, pp.508-517. ISSN 0370-3908.  https://doi.org/10.18257/raccefyn.824.

El Salitre wetland is the last reference wetland for Bogotá given the good trophic conditions of its waters, but little is known about its aquatic and terrestrial vegetation. We defined an area according to the Wetlands Policy of the Capital District to analyze the floristic composition and the structure of the aquatic and terrestrial vegetation. We used 20 vegetation plots where we registered the richness and the cover percentage using the point intercept method. We also used the information regarding urban forests of Bogotá. We found 144 species distributed in 109 genera and 60 families. The richest families in terrestrial vegetation species were Fabaceae, Asteraceae, Rosaceae, Malvaceae, and Myrtaceae, while the richest ones in aquatic vegetation were Asteraceae, Poaceae, Fabaceae, Rosaceae, and Cyperaceae. El Salitre wetland has a low richness compared with other wetlands in the Bogotá savanna, maybe due to its small area, but it has the typical composition of life forms and most characteristic aquatic communities of wetlands such as graminoid meadows or rooted emergent meadows and flooding shrublands. We confirmed El Salitre wetland as reference for the rest of Bogotá wetlands, but now also because of the aquatic vegetation there present. © 2019. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Ex. Fis. Nat.
