Resumen

FAJARDO RAMOS, Elizabeth. Total familiar risk's characterization from families with an older adult member, located in the Sixth the Commune in the municipality of Ibagué. Salud, Barranquilla [online]. 2008, vol.24, n.2, pp.248-257. ISSN 0120-5552.

Objective: The purpose of the study was to characterize the total family risk in terms of categories of factors of risk. Methodology and resource: Using the instrument "Total Family Risk 7-70", it was carried out in the neighborhoods Gaviota, Arkalá and Arkambuco which belong to commune 6th of Ibagué (Tolima), the sample used was 132 families, including elder people. It corresponds to a descriptive, exploratory study, with a quantitative focus using cross data. Outcomes: Types of familiarity extensive and modified extensive, 43% belonged to the vital cycle of families within launching pad followed by families with teenagers. Most of old people were women within ages upper to 50, followed by women between 31 and 49 years. The ranges of the family composition were from 1 to 4 members (46%) and from 5 to 8 members (42%). Most of people had, apparently, a good health condition; however, among the family record it was found that hypertension and cancer occupied the first two places, respectively. 5.3% of families have a high familiar risk, 41% medium and 54% low risk, concluding that 46.3% have a significant risk. Conclusions: The most important factors were monoparental families, with household women head. The tendency respect to morbidity it found more than one sick member within the family, while mortality rate was low. Health practices showed an absence of recreative activities, inadequate perinatl practice amongst pregnant women and inactive and isoleted elders.
