PADILLA JASSO, Patricia Yolanda  y  FIGUEROA DAMIAN, Ricardo. ASSESSMENT OF POSTERS ABOUT AN HIV POSITIVE TEST FOR PREGNANT WOMEN. Hacia promoc. Salud [online]. 2013, vol.18, n.1, pp.57-68. ISSN 0121-7577.

Objective: This study presents the results of an assessment done with high-risk pregnant women in a tertiary care hospital about the content and design of two posters that disseminate information about the importance of the application of the fluid rapid HIV testing to detect seropositivity in pregnancy. Material and Methods: A descriptive study of 426 pregnant women was carried out at the National Institute of Perinatology (INPer) of Mexico City between October 2010 and August 2011. A questionnaire that included demographic data of women and 14 reagents on the content and designs -7 Likert scale items and 7 multiple choice items- was developed and administered for the evaluation of the posters. Results: It was found that over 87% of pregnant women understood the information; they considered the design elements as positive in order, scope and clarity of information as well as the importance of content. The image was considered appropriate for the information in only one of the posters. Conclusions: The posters assessment helped to confirm that this is a suitable alternative to convey messages about screening tests to detect seropositivity when considering the design criteria for the population they are aimed to and their opinion about the content. This evaluation will allow making necessary adjustments.
