Resumen
BECERRA RODRIGUEZ, Fredy. Business networks and company dynamics: a theoretical approach. Innovar [online]. 2008, vol.18, n.32, pp.27-46. ISSN 0121-5051.
Growing importance has been given in the literature during the last four decades to studying joint production systems (more than studying companies as particular units), especially analysis concerning entrepreneurial companies and their configurations. The present work is thus centred on the notion of business networks and their effect on company development, alluding to that understood by social, business and institutional networks. Aspects relating to company dynamics and business networks are then mentioned as this is where the perspective regarding company-centred business action becomes changed for working in networks involving interacting with other agents. Taxonomy for the types of business networks in production systems is then proposed, emphasising networks in local and regional settings. Some conclusions are given indicating the importance of business networks as a mechanism for company development and their relevance in geographically-localised settings.
