Introduction: We present the evaluation of qualitative aspects of nursing care from the perceptions of patients hospitalized in a Level IV health provider institution. Objective: To describe important qualitative aspects of nursing care through a comparative analysis of the comments made by hospitalized patients. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive study reports aspects of the quality expressed by patients in each of the sections of the questionnaire related quality of nursing care, Castilian version of Rosario Alonso and co-investigators in 2005, English version: (Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scales) by Thomas LH 1996, based on the dimensions of experience and satisfaction with nursing care. Results: We performed a comparative analysis of the comments referred to in paragraphs overall quality of the instrument. After categorizing the comments made by patients were grouped into positive and negative comments regarding nursing care. 38.9% made positive comments about the nursing care, highlighting thanks, congratulations and perceptions of professionalism and the work of nursing. 15% of patients made negative comments regarding nursing care emphasizing the evil genius of nurses, lack of awareness by humanization or part thereof, delays in responses or requests made by patients, lack of information provided about the care or treatment and neglect in the late evening. Discussion and Conclusions: The Clinic patients generally have a positive perception about the nursing care received. It requires improving important aspects of nursing care as the cranky nurses, the dedication of time to listen to patients and the timing of care, which were described by patients.
