MONTERO-A., Fredy  e  ORTIZ-P., Maira. CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE FOR THE CONSERVATION OF BUTERFLIES (HESPERIOIDEA Y PAPILIONOIDEA) IN EL TABLAZO MOOR, CUNDINAMARCA (COLOMBIA). Bol. Cient. Mus. Hist. Nat. Univ. Caldas [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.2, pp.197-226. ISSN 0123-3068.

Searching to provide information and knowledge to the diversity, ecology and biology of some daytime butterflies (Hesperioidea and Papilionoidea) from El Tablazo moor, collections were carried out during the months of January, Februray, March, August and September 2012 within an area of 3,000 and 3,500 masl. A total of 60 species belonging to four families (Hesperiidae, Nymphalidae, Pieridae and Lycaenidae) and 32 genera were registered. The most abundant species was Colias dimera (Pieridae: Coliadinae). New altitudinal distribution records are reported for several species. Aditionally, the life cycles of six species from two families were provided: Pieridae: (Pierini: Aporiina): Catasticta semiramis; Nymphalidae: pronophilina: Pedaliodes phaea, P. phaeinea, P. pollusca, P. phoenissa, P. empusa. The association of these species with the host plant was established. Morphologic characcteristis of each one of the preimaging stances and ethology aspects are discussed. All biological cycles except P. phoenissa Hewitson are unknown until the moment this publication is issued.
