The Industrial University of Santander aware of its mission to train high quality people oriented to promote the development and welfare of society founded on ethics and values moving towards the design of a model for University Social Responsibility, hence under research "Designing a model for University Social Responsibility for the Industrial University of Santander" that through conclusive descriptive study identified the perceptions of the university community on the issue of University Social Responsibility (USR) for the construction of a proposed institutional management model based on the RSU; this reflection article aims to analyze the experience of the UIS and implementing socially responsible programs since the functions of teaching, research, extension and management for institutional strengthening and development of the region, in order to progress toward arises building socially responsible strategic guidelines. Social responsibility and ethical behavior gradually possession in different social actors where Higher Education Institutions are not foreign and begin to think about the impacts of decisions and commitment to accountability.
