Predictive capacity of a battery of neuropsychological tests in the early diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in a group of adults. Encuentros [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.1, pp.25-35. A study called predictive ability of a battery of neuropsychological tests in the early diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in a group of adults was conducted. Participants were 12 adults, parents of students of School Rivera Monteria, aged between 27 and 36 years, with varying degrees of education and socioeconomic status. The methodology was based on a descriptive quantitative approach. A battery of neuropsychological tests to assess attention, memory, language, praxis, gnosis, and executive function was used. These tests were able to determine the presence of pre-clinical symptoms of DCL. The identified cognitive deficits may be related as preclinical cognitive markers. Other complementary studies as a neurological assessment, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and neuropsychological assessment every 6 months would help diagnose the syndrome and take definitive action.
