Introduction: In Colombia, during the last decade, the importance of the creation of a new mass of entrepreneurs has been emphasized. This mass must be capable to absorb the workforce supply excess -qualified and not qualified- generated by the population growth experienced by the nation, and by social phenomena such as forced displacement. To achieve this goal, some initiatives have been being implemented. For instance, at municipal, provincial and national levels, some projects that aim to make the structure indicated by law 1014, or "Entrepreneuship law", are being developed. Objective. To evaluate the impact of the curricula's business management line in Corporación Universitaria Lasallista has had in the generation of business ideas among current students and alumni. Materials and methods. Direct investigation in the primary sources (students and alumni), by applying surveys. Results. 40% of the alumni and 27% of the students surveyed have made entrepreneurship proposals. 43% of the proposals made by alumni have become formally constituted companies. Conclusion. The incorporation of the subjects from the business management line in the Corporacion Universitaria Lasallista's different programs has been an influence to improve the number and the quality of the entrepreneurship initiatives among students and alumni.
