This article aims to approach the study of the seizure of the mountains in the southern towns of the valley of Toluca (1880-1917). Draws attention to the analysis of logging for the benefit of the industry, to establish in this way the various responses and measures adopted both the peoples concerned, their city councils and the state government to the fractionation of communal ownership mountains, in the context of economic and industrial modernization that the country experienced. While the exploitation of forests and their resources, responded to external demand led to relations between citizens and the authorities altered by the removal of the remedies, since the arrival of new players in search of who perform this activity highlighted the economic importance had taken the forest resource and the Mount derivatives could be obtained, which can be taken as a sign of rethinking of resources in the aforementioned context.
