The analysis of a particular photographic collection, made up of images unclaimed, taken in different regions of the Colombian geography and collected by an artist for more than twenty years, is the starting point of this article that seeks to create a reflection on the status image and its importance as a historical document. From a qualitative methodology and interpretive nature stamp discusses how these visual texts acquire a social sense of the construction of collective memory and recall as inferred categories of analysis. The results hint at the importance of the recovery of cultural heritage has for archival when building through images exegesis of the country.
