OCHOA MARIN, Jorge Mario. COMPRIMIDOS (1929), BY LYDIA BOLENA (1882-1959). AN UNKNOWN CHAPTER OF THE MODERNIST STORY IN COLOMBIAN LITERATURE. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2022, n.81, pp.325-346.  Epub 22-Fev-2023. ISSN 0120-5587.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.lyl.n81a15.

This article seeks to highlight a little-studied figure in the history of the modernist short story and twentieth-century women’s literature in Colombia. It deals with the narrative work of the writer Lydia Bolena, published in the Colombian and foreign press between 1912 and 1947. An important part of that work was compiled in the book Comprimidos(1929). This study explores some characteristic elements of the modernist narrative, both formal (precise and austere construction), and thematic (cosmopolitanism, presence of the city, aestheticism), and also the voice of the 20th century woman.

Palavras-chave : Lydia Bolena; press; short story; modernism; cosmopolitanism.
