This situation of discrimination, violence and lack of support network generates depression, insomnia, feelings of internalized homophobia, stress, poor school performance, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal ideation, suicide attempt and suicide, low self-esteem and risk behaviors. The response of the health sector is necessary to generate change and break the circle of exclusion and discrimination.
