GONZALEZ, Jaime Torres. Formation of the autoritarian personality in Colombia, and exclusion and violence against the ethnically different individual. anal.polit. [online]. 2011, vol.24, n.71, pp.73-89. ISSN 0121-4705.
The Article presents - following the arguments of wel l- known intellectual authorities- the historic formation of the Authoritarian Personality of important groups of the Colombian elites, molded by strong racist prejudices and under the aegis of the colonial Hispanic ideology, religious scholasticism and ethnic prejudices, largely spread in Europe. The resistance and struggles undertaken by the non-white majorities have made, in recent times, reduce the degree of racist pressure that had globally decreased with the fall of Nazism and, in Colombia, with the end of the period domestically called "The Violence". However, the persistence of a latent racism in the collective unconscious of ample sectors of the population - the elites and masses, as well - allows the persistent violent waves in the country to continue perceiving areas, primarily inhabited by dark skin populations, main targets for their abuses. The policies of social inclusion, awareness of "the other", improvement of civil, cultural and social rights inherent to a democracy, still have a long road to be run.
