This work aims to present methodological guidelines to be considered at the stage of pre-release, release, tracking and monitoring of wildlife under rehabilitation programs. These guidelines will facilitate to make the right decisions that increase the success of survival and adaptation of the released specimens into the wild populations. The minimum requirements that should be taken into consideration in the process are described, and these depend on the taxonomic group. These requirements are: the origin of the individuals, geographical location, health, ethological and/or genetic assessment; marking method, previous ecological assessment of the selected site, types of release, evaluation of animals during the process of monitoring and tracking, interventions, as well as technical and logistical necessary requirements for achieving the objectives of the reintroduction.
