SANCHEZ CARCAMO, Ricardo Antonio  e  PARRA MORENO, Carlos Fernando. The Relationship between Business Association, Productivity, and Competitiveness: A Review of the Literature. rev.univ.empresa [online]. 2024, vol.26, n.46, a13484.  Epub 04-Dez-2023. ISSN 0124-4639.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/empresa/a.13484.

Business associativity is how two or more companies come together to achieve a common objective. It is considered one of the determinants of productivity and therefore of competitiveness.

Objective:

To perform a literature review on the relationship between business associativity, productivity, and competitiveness for the period 2008 to June 2023.

Methodology:

The research adopted a qualitative approach with an exploratory, documentary review and descriptive methodology. This review was conducted using two approaches: a systematic literature review (SLR) and a bibliometric analysis (co-words, co-citation). The information was obtained through the Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) databases.

Key findings:

From the review of 371 articles in Scopus and 76 in WoS for a total of 447 works, it is found that there are many publications regarding the topic of business associativity, productivity, and competitiveness independently, with a joint bivariate explanation. However, evidence of the publication of empirical works on the relationship between the three variables is limited, which allows expanding future research for the empirical validation of the topic.

Palavras-chave : Business association; productivity; competitiveness; systematic review; bibliometric analysis.
