This article aimed to make a diagnosis of unmet needs of a community adjacent to a port terminal in Barranquilla within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. It was defined as a quantitative study of analytical, descriptive non-experimental, transectional and field type. One instrument was designed, and applied to a sample of 290 housing units. This questionnaire had 17 items for the unsatisfied needs variable and one item for social responsibility. Thus, it is evident that the community bordering the port terminal whose main activity is the commerce and gastronomy services considers as urgent to increase employment opportunities and security, identified as high needs in its order: public safety, medical care, drug addiction and unemployment, propose educational campaigns and food security, the community disagrees with the image of social responsibility actions implemented by the port terminal. It is concluded that the need for Port Terminal intervention in actions to promote employment opportunities, mitigate insecurity and develop programs aimed at improving the health and well-being of the community to improve the reputation of the terminal to the community.
