The purpose of this paper is to describe the work developed by the Beneficencia de Cundinamarca in hospices and homes for children who were under its responsibility between 1917 and 1928. Emphasis is placed on the administrative and financial structure, the actors, and the intervention strategies in these institutions. The study, which was mainly carried out from consulting different types of documents of the Beneficence's General Board, allows you to identify the economic difficulties faced by these establishments and to learn about the different intervention strategies implemented for the care and protection of children in the hospices. All of this within the framework of an important debate on childhood, in which doctors, teachers, and lawyers participated at the beginning of the twentieth century.
