CORREIA, Mariana. Teoría de la conservación y su aplicación al patrimonio en tierraConservation theory and its application to earthen heritage. Apuntes [online]. 2007, vol.20, n.2, pp.202-219. ISSN 1657-9763.

In spite of the published information concerning earth architecture, its techniques, and its state of art, little attention has been given to the area of conservation practice based on the theory of conservation. This article aims at reviewing conservation theory principles and reasons and their analyses through the earth architecture perspective. In the first part of the article, there is an approach to the Cultural Heritage, followed by conceptual definitions and conservation actions, as well as documental references related to the "restoration" bases, international charts and Brandi's Theory. Subsequently, Values and Significance are also analysed, as well as the factors that enhance them and the Principles for Conservation Recommendations. Some of the Pathologies and Diagnosis are enhanced, followed by some examples of Methodologies of intervention, and finally, Heritage Management Plans.

Palavras-chave : Heritage; conservation; restoration; values; management plan.
