This article emphasizes on professional competencies (generic and specific) required by Colombian Business Management labor market. Quantitative descriptive, documentary and longitudinal analysis were used upon empirical research, and techniques such as documental analysis and the survey. The study begins with the narrative review of academic and institutional documents about the nature of the competency based curriculum applied to the Alfa Tuning Latin America chapter. Subsequently, fieldwork analysis is presented for two groups of interest related to administration programs at different times about the most valued competencies in Administrators. This study shows that Tuning Latin America approach means a useful mecanism for evaluating competencies in the management field and these are considered as being significant . Competences proposed place significant challenges not only in business management education in Colombia but as an integrated and comprehensive based educational platform, not only for work.
