PINEDA ARRIETA, Rafael E.; VALENCIA OCHOA, Guillermo E. e ROLDAN MCKINLEY, Javier. A bibliometric analysis of solar tracking systems research. Prospect. [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.2, pp.35-40. ISSN 1692-8261. https://doi.org/10.15665/rp.v16i2.841.
A total of 131 research publications on solar tracking systems were identified in the 2007-2017 period, from the data hosted in the online version of SCI-Expanded, Thomson Reuters Web of Science, for bibliometric analysis. The analysis included the publication results, the keywords distribution, the journals, and the performance of countries, institutions, and authors. Citing trends and highly cited publications are also reported. It was found that the result of the publication of related documents increased throughout the study period. The results showed that “solar”, “tracking” and “system” were the most frequent terms in the publication titles. The most productive institution was the King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, in addition to the participation of 202 institutions, which shows a great research interest worldwide. It was found that the articles became more collaborative with a greater number of authors and bibliographic references. The most influential countries in this research field were the United States and China, which together accounted for 27,48% of total publications.
