NIEVA, José María. La tríada escatològica en el neoplatonismo tardío. Eidos [online]. 2015, n.22, pp.101-114. ISSN 1692-8857. https://doi.org/10.14482/eidos.22.6540.
Damascius divides into three parts his Commentary on Plato's Phaedo. The third one is dedicated to the eschatological myth, which is divided, in turn, into three parts. This descent into Hades can be read together with other two Platonic myths dealing with the fate of the soul, to know: Gorgias and The Republic. In this triadic conception, Damascius owes a debt to Proclus, who was the first to show a mutual overlapping between these three dialogues. Therefore, this paper will try to show the sense granted to the myth by the neo-platonic philosophers and how it is related to the life of soul, since both thinkers argue that a part of life occurs in the genesis, in the area of dissimilarity, where its eschatological condition takes place.
