Introduction. The porcine somatotropine hormone from a recombinant origin (STp) is a compound that modificates metabolism and is used in pork industry during the growth and finalization stages. It allows a different proportion of tissue deposition in the final product. Materials and methods. In this study 90 pigs were used ( 90,5± 0.4kg) during 28 days, in which the response to 4 doses of STp was evaluated (a daily intramuscular injection during 28 days): 0, 2, 4 and 6 mg/pig and 2 true ileal digestible lysine relations towards metabolizable energy (LYSEM): 2,15 (7/3, 25) and 2,72 (9g of Lys/3.3 Mcal of EM/kg) over the daily food consuming (CDA in Spanish), the daily gain of weight (GDP in Spanish), dorsal fat (P2) (GD), chop eye area (AOCH in Spanish) and gain of fat free loin tissue (GTMLG in Spanish). Results. For the variables CDA, GDP, GD, AOCH and GDTMLG, significative statistic differences were found (p<0,05) between the treatments, obtaining the highest performances in the Animals that received the treatment with the maximum STp level and LYSEM in their diets. Discussion. The increment in the energetic consuming for the maintenance for the use of increasing levels of STp and LYSEM is associated, partly, to the increment of a rate until 60% in the proteic re-change rate, and to a reduction in the lipogenesis, more than to an effect on the lipolysis. Conclusions. The use of STp could increase the weight of the pigs in process for slaughter, without affecting the payment for the quality of the processed meat.
