HOYOS, VERÓNICA; MARTINEZ, MARÍA J. e PLAZA, GUIDO. Weeds associated with citrus, guava, passion fruit and pineapple crops in the department of Meta, Colombia. rev.colomb.cienc.hortic. [online]. 2015, vol.9, n.2, pp.247-258. ISSN 2011-2173. https://doi.org/10.17584/rcch.2015v9i2.4181.
The weed community was determined in the municipalities of Granada, Lejanías and Villavicencio in the department of Meta using transects and a botanical collection in the principal fruit crops. The results showed that there were 137 species belonging to 103 genera and 35 families. The dicotyledons had the largest contribution with 4 families, 22 genera and 33 species. The citrus crop, with 65 species, 54 genera and 28 families, had the highest number of species and the lowest contribution came from the pineapple with 14 species. The Poaceae family displayed the greatest richness with 18 species, followed by Asteraceae with 17 and Cyperaceae with 10. Information on the types of habitat and life cycle of the weeds was also included, in which 85% were herbaceous plants and an annual cycle predominated in 37% of the species.
