Objective:

To analyze public policy to guarantee the rights of girls, boys and adolescents to a life free of sexual violence in the Ecuadorian educational system during the last five years.

Methodology:

The methodology used to develop the research was qualitative through interviews with expert interlocutors.

Results:

It is highlighted that the Ministry of Education, as the governing body of education, has established primary functions within the comprehensive protection system: prevention, punishment and reparation in acts of sexual violence, for which projects and programs based on psycho-pedagogy and methodological strategies aimed at guaranteeing life free of violence for the educational community have been implemented within educational institutions.

Conclusions:

Despite the measures established to counteract sexual violence in classrooms, the statistics are increasing as is the impunity for these degrading acts.
