This article shows how the globalization process has impacted in the harness maquiladora industry in Ciudad Juárez and how job insecurity and world-class production can coexist in the production of automotive harness where two of the main local stakeholders (unions and the State) are completely blurred and accomplices.

The document is based mainly in the analysis of four cases of maquiladora plants producing automotive harnesses owned by world leading corporations, which concentrate over 90% of employment and harness production plants in the in the city.
