AVENDANO ARIAS., Johan Andrés. Cadastral information: Contemporary dimensions for city management in the 21st century. Rev. Ciudades Estados Política [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.3, pp.115-128. Epub 21-Jun-2022. ISSN 2462-9103.
The trilogy between the city, management, and information is perhaps one of the fronts that will become highly relevant in the future of the 21st century. The challenges are diverse, starting with the idea that cities, city systems, and scales are plural; they are expressions of socio-spatial inequalities and injustices. Perhaps these divergences are, precisely, what keep this reflection's present and future lines in force. It is clear that the edges of the proposed line would be wide-ranging, which is why they are limited to the relationship between the city and its management with cadastral information in the contemporary Latin American context in this article, especially in Colombia, where the incursion of the so-called "multipurpose cadastre" has taken dynamism. Thus, we start from the following question: what are the challenges, and what are the contemporary dimensions of cadastre, of its information, for urban management in the 21st century? When trying to answer this question, the following reflection is structured, analyzing the cadastre's legal, physical, and economic dimensions and the possibilities that this generates towards understanding the Latin American and Colombian cities of the 21st century.
