The purpose of this article is to examine the notion of audience. It seeks to move from its normative-validating nature to a more active role capable of contributing to the argumentation-critical training relationship. The method used is a theoretical interpretive relational method that integrates hermeneutic and phenomenological aspects. From this conjunction, it is possible to suspend the audience to strip it of some of its assumptions. As a result, the features of the universal audience are presented that suggest an alternative reading of the idea of audience. It is also noted that it is permeated by a series of assumptions that are not usually questioned. It is concluded that the auditorium, as a construction of the world of life, does not subscribe to a fixed and unchangeable sphere, but allows the displacement of its limits and functions.
