MELO LINARES, John Jairo. School Chronicles: An Approach to Writing in Primary School. Enunciación [online]. 2023, vol.28, n.1, pp.15-33. Epub 24-Nov-2023. ISSN 0122-6339. https://doi.org/10.14483/22486798.20564.
This article presents the results of the research titled Chronicles as an opportunity to favor writing in the first cycle, based on the comprehension, elaboration, and functionality of this genre in different contexts. To this effect, a series of workshops was designed, which were implemented both synchronously and asynchronously, given the context of remote education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In this sense, this research followed an interpretive paradigm, with a qualitative approach and a research-action design. As a result, it was evidenced that the students developed the ability to elaborate on this type of text, to improve their text production, and to strengthen their written expression. Moreover, it is important to acknowledge that the school faces challenges, on the one hand, for the teachers, as there is a need to update their pedagogical practices; and, on the other hand, for students, regarding the challenge of acquiring and developing communication skills that allow them to delve into the world of their productions. In conclusion, writing chronicles shows potential beyond the text, letters, or orthographical rules (linguistic approach); it expands toward the possibilities the author is willing to provide to them (psycholinguistic and sociocultural approach).
