Resumo

Objectives:

To register three new localities for the river red lobster P. clarkii (Decapoda: Cambaridae), the first in Paipa (Boyacá), the second in Subachoque (Cundinamarca) and Chía (Cundinamarca).

Scope:

Inventory of known records in the country.

Methodology:

A detailed and exhaustive review of the biological material present in personal collections, in museums and in research centers was carried out, as well as the records published between 2010 and 2022. The new localities were visited, and specimens were collected with local arts.

Main results:

As a result of the search and research carried out, the particularities of the new localities, the first associated with the Chicamocha river basin, the second and the third with the Bogotá River basin.

Conclusions:

The national investigations that have been carried out on the red river lobster expose in detail the ecological aspects of this species, which has been mentioned in 27 localities and four departments of the fresh waters of Colombia, starting in 1985 when its introduction occurred in the Valle del Cauca.
