Drug addiction is a pandemic that affects 324 million people worldwide, requiring the need to understand the cognitive factors of intentionality and executive functioning neuropsychological that make up the decision to use a drug. To define the existence and possible relationship between variables, a study was carried out with quantitative design in a sample of 80 students between 11 and 15 years. Intentionality was measured with the Drug Intent Scale (EMIUD), decision-making with Iowa Letters, planning with Hanoi Mazes and Towers, and inhibition with Stroop Mazes and Test. The analysis was descriptive, for non-parametric samples, identifying that 14% of students intend to consume, with positive correlation in attitudes, subjective norm and behavioral and negative control with planning, inhibition and decision-making. Students intending to consume, present positive representations about drugs and peers that tolerate it in addition to impulsive inhibitory control, short-term planning and risk decision making.
