SOLANO SUAREZ, Yusmidia. Eurocentrism and sexism in the historiography on the indigenous peoples of Abya Yala: investigative findings of the gender relations in the Zenú civilization. memorias [online]. 2011, n.14, pp.162-201. ISSN 1794-8886.
Arguments displayed in this text are intended to demonstrate how Eurocentric and sexist slants are still present in historiography and general studies related to native peoples settled in the Abya Yala or America continent. Reflections regarding culture and gender relations within these civilizations from authors supporting the feminist and indigenistic points of view are also exposed. A review concerning the present state of these topics in Spain and Colombia is incidentally presented. At the same time, advancements in connection with the reconstruction of history of the Zenu (Colombian continental Caribbean) civilization are introduced.
