We evaluated the contribution of Mucuna pruriens as green manure and mulch, with a complement of chemical fertilization, on the soil structural stability, moisture content and loss by erosion. We found a maximum increase in the structural stability of 0.63 when the mulch was used, supplemented with compost more chemical fertilizer. Conversely, the application of the treatments had no effect in either increasing the amount of moisture in the soil or to reduce losses due to erosion.
