The aim of this article is to analyze, from the geopolitical codes' perspective, the context and development of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine between 1991 and 2022. For this purpose, the concept of geopolitical codes was used, since it is a framework that can operationalize the confluence of factors, causes and players involved in this conflict. The case study methodology allowed to understand the process that led to this outcome, tracing it from the initial conditions.
