Crisis of legitimacy of democratic institutionsAbstract: The author addresses some of the problems facing contemporary democracies, such as the system of political representation, the crisis being experienced by the parties, and political dysfunction caused by the influence of mass media. The solution to these problems point to a deepening of democracy, in any case, be achieved through deliberation and greater political participation of citizens.Keywords: political representation, parties, media, democracy, deliberation.
