ORSI MESCHINI, Fabio  e  FRANCINA TANNURI DE OLIVEIRA, Ely. Birger Hjørland scientific production indexed in Scopus: Articles and his citers. Rev. Guillermo Ockham [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.2, pp.95-105.  Epub 22-Jun-2021. ISSN 1794-192X.  https://doi.org/10.21500/22563202.3055.

The objective of this study was to analyze Birger Hjorland’s scientific production indexed in the Scopus database and his impact through citing articles, that is, his citers, using bibliometric indicators. The research universe consisted of articles by researcher Birger Hjorland indexed in the Scopus database, in a total of 40 articles and 998 citations. As a result, we highlight the main journals selected by Birger Hjorland for publishing his articles and those that cite him the most. The language used in 95% of his articles is English, representing 90,9 % of his citers and the main citing country is the United States. It can also be observed that of the 40 articles produced by Birger Hjorland, only 12 (30 %) were written in co-authorship, the remaining 28 (70 %) in single authorship. Another analyzed fact refers to the high correlation between the themes worked by Birger Hjorland and the preferential theme of his citing journals. We also present the main Brazilian and foreign citing institutions, as well as the citing authors, with 5,6 % self-citations of the total of 998 citations received. It is concluded, from the results obtained, that the studies of citers, allow the identification of important elements in the dynamics of scientific production.
