ROBAINA, Germán e SALAYA, Juan José. CRECIMIENTO, SOBREVIVENCIA, TASA DE CONVERSIÓN Y EFICIENCIA ALIMENTARIA DE LA PAGUARA CHAETODIPTERUS FABER (PISCES: EPHIPPIDAE) BAJO DIFERENTES DIETAS. Bol. Invest. Mar. Cost. [online]. 1993, vol.22, n.1, pp.69-76. ISSN 0122-9761.
Results obtained during 141 consecutive days are issued to evaluate the growth in weight and length, convection rate and survivalship of Atlantic spadefish specimens (Chaetodipterus faber) feeded with three different diets and their combinations. The experiences were held, with replies, in ten circular tanks of 1.5 m3, sowing specimens between 107 and 115 mm of standard length and 53-64 gr of total weight in a proportion of 13 specimens/m3, feeding them with the 5% of the total biomass per tank, in two daily rations. The best results correspond to the camaronina diet, with an increase of weight of 390% and convention rate of 3.88, and the combination of camaronina/arenque (Spanish sardine), with 393% on weight increase and convertion rate of 4.76. Diet of pollarina, with 164% of weight increase and convertion rate of 7.52 and arenque diet, with 250% of weight increase and convertion rate of 5.90, were which ones that offered lower values. Respect to survivalship, which fluctuated between 85 and 100%, in none of the treatments were found significant differences. A posterior analysis of convertion rate values, price used and survivalship obtained, suggest that the arenque and the combination camaronina/arenque, even if they do not allow to obtain the biggest growth rales and convertion rate, are those who offer the best relation food/price.
