MOUNIROU DIALLO, Mamadou; DIOUCK, Assane; SYLLA, Ibrahima e WADJI, Astou. Informal commerce and social networks in Dakar. Itinerary of an unexpected adaptation. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2020, vol.30, n.3, pp.83-94. Epub 07-Dez-2020. ISSN 0124-7913. https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v30n3.80026.
Informal trade is very dynamic in the city of Dakar, marked by a strong urbanization. Recently, this trade has taken a direction based on social networks that are increasingly adapted to the socio-economic realities of the population. Social networks inspire traders who opt for new business practices and bring in new, previously discrete economic players. The extent of commerce on social networks is almost proportional to their use by Senegalese society. Social networks seem to reinforce informal commerce in the city by involving a multitude of actors and places that contribute to the reinforcement of its complexity. Starting from this situation, these networks are updating the question of regulation, which adapts very little to digital innovations in perpetual change.
