MOSCOSO MARIN, Luz Bibiana  e  MONTEALEGRE TORRES, Jorge Luis. Impacts on the terrestrial flora due to the implementation of small hydroelectric centrals in Alejandría, AntioquiaImpactos na flora terrestre pela implementação de pequenas centrais hidrelétricas em Alejandría, Antioquia. Rev. P+L [online]. 2013, vol.8, n.2, pp.85-93. ISSN 1909-0455.

Introduction. The recent demand for energy has brought a local and global interest to search for alternative energy sources, among which small hydroelectric centrals are a more environmentally "friendly" strategy. Objectives. To identify and evaluate the negative and positive impacts generated by small hydroelectric centrals on the terrestrial flora of Alejandría, Antioquia, during the previous, construction and operation stages of the project. Methodology. The evaluation of the impacts was performed by the use of the Conesa model alongside another model proposed by the authors. Results. The activities that generate an impact on the vegetation are referred to recognition visits, the opening of trails, purchase and modification of terrains, vegetation removal and stripping, disposal of excavation waste, cleaning of the free terrain required for the connection lines and the operative areas, the presence of the project itself and maintenance of common areas and roads. Conclusion. The model proposed by the authors demonstrated that the impact of the Project on the vegetation is categorized as high.
